Identity, the constant inward and outward search for authenticity, masculine-feminine dynamics/inequalities, examined through personal, familial, and cultural historical identity, have become the basis for exploring pictorial subject matter in my work. The paintings I create have become a way for me to gain physical and emotional agency. This body of work aims to empower by speaking directly to the issues that surround us daily.
