CAPTURING AN INTANGIBLE ESSENCE OF A PERSON - ARTIST OLIVIA BLACK

I’m a seventeen year old artist, currently in my final year of high school. I adore painting portraits of people as I love trying to capture an intangible essence of a person into something permanent (almost as If I’m fusing and sealing a beautiful feeling into an artwork so it cannot be lost). I work with acrylic paints and love bright, powerful colour combinations!

I have had my work featured in the art times magazine and have recently won the South African Artist Magazine student competition which I’m so thrilled about! My artwork has also been featured in Candy Floss Magazine - one of my personal favorites! I still have a lot of learning, growing and flourishing to do and I can’t wait to pursue my art further!
