EXPLORING FEELINGS OF SHAME FROM BORROWED PAST EXPERIENCES, ARTIST AMBERLY HUI HOOD



Amberly Hui Hood is a visual artist based in Atlanta, GA. In 2017, she earned her B.F.A. in Painting with a minor in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Amberly has shown her work throughout galleries and markets in Atlanta, including: Mason Fine Art, Atlanta Decorative Art Center, The Mammal Gallery and SCAD Atlanta. Her work encompasses paintings and alternative media practices that explore the feeling of shame from borrowed past experiences and the dread of potential ones. Through her paintings and rubber works, she utilizes playful and child-like aesthetics to cope with and further analyze the stresses of shame.
