HAIR OBSSESSED, T CREATES STUNNING DETAILED WORK THAT'S TRULY MAGICAL

What inspires you to illustrate?

I get inspired by nature and pretty things.

We love your magical style and the women in your drawings, can you tell us a little more about your style and how you came to develop it?

Thank you. I’ve always been into fantasy and sci-fi and somehow wanted to implement that into my art. I’ve also been quite obsessed with hair for a long time, so it felt natural to start drawing it. That’s how it started and it has developed quite a lot in the past two years and I feel like I’m finally starting to find my style. I’ve spent many hours practicing and making lots of mistakes to be where I am today.

What tools do you use to create your art?

I use mostly markers and some colored pencil. I’ve been also experimenting with some digital art but markers are my main media.

You illustrate a lot of women figures, any plans to branch off and illustrate animals, men, children, etc...?

As a woman, I naturally relate to other women and I think they are visually more appealing to me. There is so much that you can do when you illustrate women too, women can have a long luxurious hair, make up, jewelry and other accessories which can be fun to draw. I have drawn some children, men and pets too in the past, but mostly for commissions. At the moment I don’t really feel like I enjoy it enough to focus more on it.

Do you think your art reflects your personality?

To be honest, I don’t think so, but it reflects who I want to become.

Have you attended art school? If so, how did it change, or grow, your illustrations style and skills?

I had some art classes when I was in high school and college in Finland, but I don’t remember much of those classes. I would say that I’m 99% self taught.

Do you have a favorite artist?

There is so many great artists out there, but currently I’m obsessed with Tanya Shatseva’s & Serpents Suns work, to mention a couple.

How do you want people to feel when they look at your artwork?

I want them to feel inspired and empowered.

What are your illustration plans for 2018?

I would like to focus more on my personal projects and create a new coloring book. Crystal coloring book is next on my list.

What is your favorite song, artist or band you enjoy listening to while you work?

I like to listen to other artists videos or podcasts. I also like to listen to entrepreneurial & motivational videos on Youtube because they inspire me and get me in the right mood. If I listen to music it’s almost always IV the Polymath, who is my favorite musician & husband.
