Mariangela Le Thanh was born in Italy to Vietnamese refugees and grew up in beautiful Saluzzo, surrounded by the Italian Alps. At eighteen, she moved to San Francisco where she studied drawing and printmaking. She lives in Northern California where she spends her days painting, making hand pulled prints, being very emotional.
Her work explores intimate relationships with people and foreign spaces with many mixed emotions, but always with a strong appetite for life.
Candy Falls inhabits my prints and paintings: they are not me nor you, more like someone in between us. Wherever they are is just a temporary playground, for “home” is a good sounding name they assign to places as they come, just like after a pouring their heart out to a stranger, they might call them their best friend.
