My name is Sheila, I am 25 years old, currently living in England, but I am originally from Spain. I studied a little bit of Philosophy, then I did a career in Graphic Design and some courses of Illustration and animation. I started promoting my illustrations four years ago. I didn't have any shop or blog and I didn't update too much on my Instagram. One day I posted a painting and a woman from Sweden contacted me to know if I was selling it, so I sold it to her and that's how I opened an Etsy shop, and started to promote more my artworks and be more constant under my artist name shepurr. I paint cats, sad big eyed cats. I like to tell stories of my life or dreams, or feelings in each of my illustrations and accompany them with innocent pastel colors to make contrasts between the expressions of the cats and the colors. Mostly I like to use watercolors and colored pencils, but lately I've been doing some digital illustrations with Photoshop. Some people ask me the meaning of the drawings, they want to know why are they always looking sad, but I think it's always better to give your own meaning to the art pieces you are looking at. Some of the artists that influence me and I like a lot are Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Roby Dwi Antono, Dilkabear, Amy Earles or Femke Hiemstra, there are too many artists that I like and follow. Of course I like different styles of art, I follow some children's book illustrators as well, and I am a big addict to watch cartoons, so I follow some animators too, that in some way, all of them, inspire me to draw. In my free time, if I am not drawing I like to play videogames, watch loads of tv series (I'm a big Lost fan), cartoons or films, I enjoy travelling a lot whenever I can, and meet new people.
