Gared Luquet is best known for his vibrant large-scale wildlife portraits. His most recent body of work, LA ZOO, blends realistic imagery with abstract application, characterized by layers of color and texture. Luquet includes electrifying backdrops that capture the vibrant culture and landscape of Los Angeles. Most notably, his use of vintage neon signs emphasize the connection between the man-made and the natural world. Luquet's art serves as a positive reminder of alliance humans have with animals, and as we go forward in the modern world, it is important to continue to strengthen the bond between man and nature. Gared Luquet received his Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Pepperdine University, and currently creates his work at Keystone Art Space in Los Angeles.
